It will not be honda's first diesel, a year ago I shopped for a home standby generator and found that honda had a discontinued diesel powered generator 10kw I think. Anyhow, I went with a Onan natural gas unit instaed, solely due to cost. I think the honda was about $8k.

I read on the Honda world pages that the 1. 7L Civic diesel is an Isuzu. Seems like Honda has an agreement to supply GM with V6 gas engines and Isuzu will supply these 1. 7L diesels for the Civics. Honda is also developing a true Honda 2. 0L diesel for use in future Accords.

doesn't the "smoked" part already happen. . not quite a ricer, but the little v dubs with a blocked airfilter will smoke real good. .
