The big eye opener for me was the Honda service approach, they sweat every little detail to make service and ownership a breeze. Compare this with my Big 3 experiences where the dealer is happy to tell the customer to cram it at any and every opportunity.

Yes, that was a big surprise for me too. Having owned only vehicles from Detroit's Big 3, for nearly 50 years, the Honda experience was/is refreshingly different. The Detroit Big 3 and their dealers could certainly use some lessons...

You might just look at the new Dodge minivan. My '93 was one of the least expensive vehicles I've owned. Drive one and compare the out he door price!

I sold the minivan to a good friend of mine and she's driven about 25000 trouble free miles since(about 130000 miles on it now). Every day mileage was 19-20 mpg. :)

Run flats

Avoid the run flat tires on the Honda as they're super expensive to replace and don't last that long. They come standard on the Touring model.

Our extended family has both of them. I would highly recommend either one although I am partial to the Honda.

I have an '05 Accord EX-L that I drive the heck out of (35-40K a year). I have no plans of selling it any time soon.

The wife is about ready for a new van. It will most likely be a fully loaded Odyssey EX-L.
