Howdy all,

Well, I began my inevitable slide down the path of BOMBaholism last night. My K&N RE-0880 and the 25-0880 pre-filter arrived from Summitt Racing, and they went in after work. Man, you sure can hear that turbo spool up now! When I go up hills and get past about 10 #'s boost, it sounds like the turbo is gonna suck the filter into the impeller blades.

Since this is my first K&N, I'm hoping I oiled it up properly. I follwed the directions on the charging kit, and sprayed the entire filter surface twice, about 15 minutes apart, then installed it. Does this sound sufficient to you, or should I maybe give it one more spray of oil this weekend just to be safe?

Next item up for bids is a new 4" exhaust. How soon it goes in depends on how much mr IRS wants me to send him next month..... Then hopefully DD III injectors will soon follow that #ad

Spraying twice is sufficient. Esp with the pre-filter. To much oil and you will find your turbo fins all slimey #ad

Love the sound eh???

Ah the carefree days of intake mods only!!

Eventually you'll move up to the "hard stuff"
. . I need new nozzles on the already BOMBed injectors, and a 14cm wastegated housing, and a new TC... maybe that'll be enough (or not #ad
)

I think Tom will be following the same path I did. If thats the case he will never be done tweeking on his truck I am looking to do something that no one else has done yet thats the fun stuff

Wiz is right. I am definitely planning on a series of serious BOMBs as $ allows. Here is what I think I would like to do, but as time goes on, the particular brands or models of each BOMB may change as new toys become available. In chronological order are:

EGT/boost gauges: already done
K&N + pre-filter: already done
4" straight piped exhaust: hopefully by end of March
DD 3 injectors: hopefully by end of March
Line-X spray in bed liner: this summer??
Transfer Flow 60 gallon OEM replacement tank: maybe this summer...
Sachs clutch: probably late this year (big $$)
fueling/boost boxes: probably early next year. not sure which ones yet...
Maybe a new turbo eventually, if all these goodies ain't enough #ad

Hee-hee, took the silencer ring out today. Now it seems like there is a nice low rumble sound coming from the location of the turbo. Me likes #ad

Also, finally got my W-2 this weekend and did the old income taxes. Good news: I'll break even between Federal and State, so can now go get my exhaust system and injectors #ad

Still have to decide between DD Stage 3's and those new BullyDog Step 4's. As Tool Man Tim says "Uh-uh-uh-uh More POWER!!!!!!!"

Hi Gang,
This is the first time I have posted here in quite some time.
I'm officially joining the "Bombing" gang. I just purchased a VA box and it shoud be here tomorrow! Quick question. Do you have to disconnect the batteries before pluging in the VA? And if so, do you have to "retrain" the ECM like other vehicles after a battery disconnect?

George

I didn't disconnect the batteries when I installed my VA. It takes a grand total of about five minutes max to hook the thing up.

I have the EZ coming and I was curious about where the box is located in the truck. I've looked for it and can't seem to locate it. Is is under the hood or inside under the dash? Help!!
