What is it that makes a Cummins sound like a Cummins?

Fast Chevy

ok i want to hook next weekend i got some upgrades see signature... . but stock clutch and i got injectors coming in hope to have them in b 4 this pull... but my brother has a 7. 3 with a dual disc i have pulled it a few times but he pulled all of last season with a stock clutch and only burned it 1ce his 1st time so can i try 2 pull with a stock clutch or is this a bad idea???if so what gear? 4 hi or low? i got 4:10's so let me know thanks

Actually, I'm suprised you still have a stock cluth with all your mods, you could pull with it, but I would stay in 3rd gear, Low range and don't slip much off the line or you will never get it to grab again after that. I had less mods than that with my stock clutch(power puck and 60hp inj. ) and overpowered mine. My advise would be to skip the pull and upgrade your clutch first.

If it were me, I think I would hold off until I got a heavier clutch. You have already slipped it just playing around with it, if you hook to a sled in anything over 2nd low, it will probably fry it completely. With the mods your showing, put the heavier clutch in then start handing out the whoopin's. But that is just my opinion-Nicholas

I would say get the dual disk... ... ... you will trash a single in one pass. Buy the one that is made for what you plan to do.

I am with James, If your gonna play, get the Dual Disk. I have a 3850 12 puck DD in my '96 from south bend, and it works great. Just be sure to get the newer style with springs, so it won't chatter so much. -Nicholas
