I'll leave out the long story..... All I need to know is... could a bad steering gear box (Loose steering box) Cause the front tires to wear on the outsides. If not, what would.

Your answers will determine how big the load of crap I got from the service manager at my dealer. And if I will have to hit him with the front end of my truck!!!!

It's all about the long story I didn't tell you about. :-{} (me and the service manager)

If you have 2WD, an incorrect camber setting can eat up tires. With my 4WD, I am on my third junk steering gear with a bad track bar and have no signs of uneven tire wear. You might want to add this (2WD or 4WD) to your signature.

Tire wear

Kollmer, both camber and toe in will cause your tires to wear on either the inside or the outside edge. If the tires are wearing on both inside and outside edges, it could be low air pressure or not rotating your tires enough. I don't think a bad steering box can cause any kind of tire wear. Sorry to hear about ANYONE having problems with dealers. Good luck. RCrawford.

tire wear

are your tires wearing on one side or both- mine are more on the right side than the left. it goes back to the dealer tomorrow for ball joints on both sides and a new track bar which is loose along with the joints. this does not give me no warm fuzzy fealing about this front end with 28000 miles on it!!!!!!!! :(
