Horn going off

Anybody have their horn go off with the truck parked. Mine is going off in varying lenths of time from 1 second or so to up to 10 seconds. I pulled the fuse but dont know what the culprit is. Has done it with key in the ignition and out of the ignition. I never had the recall done for the transmission reverse/horn thing so it cant be that. Any ideas????

I just did a search yesterday on the front control module. I didn't read any of them but there were where a few threads posted with guys talking about horn problems like yours.

Where would I locate the front control module on the truck?

Tell u what, I'm so tired of my horn going off when I hop out of the truck taking trailers on/off I am SERIOUSLY considering cutting the factory " look at me, I'm an impatient jackass horn" wires and installing some more appropriate " It'd be a good idea for you to MOVE" airhorns. Best of all, my horns would only go off when I want it to, reducing my odds of getting in a fight on the boat ramp.

If your truck is the same as mine our control module is located on the right side of the fuse box. It sits in between the fuse box and the right front headlight assembly.

Ok I found the fcm. Anybody have the mopar part # for this??

When I called my local Dodge dealer to get pricing for the FCM. The parts guy just asked me for the last eight digits of my VIN number. For the life of me I cannot remember the quote I was given. I think it was somewhere in between 175$- $250. I just remember it being a lot of money for such a simple problem.

The more I think about this (and searched threads of course:-laf) I am thinking the horn pad. The other funny thing is that the truck has been parked in my garage and not run in 3-4 weeks(who can afford to commute in these things??)I notices moisture in 2 of my Auto Meter guages which I have never seen before. I think I may dig into the horn pad first. Anyone have THIS part #???

The horn pad is the culprit. Replace it and the problem will go away. Been there done that.

Is the horn pad and the clockspring the same thing. Parts guy at dc doesnt show any "horn pad"

Ok I will answer my own question now that I have it apart. Of course the horn pad and the clockspring are different. Had it apart in 5 minutes or so. Now I see how it is assembled it makes much more sense. Off to the #@$%!dealer#@$%! tommorow... ..... :-laf
