It has happened before, but eventually "fixes" itself and starts blowing two notes again. Had anyone experienced this?

eBay. An old fart like me been selling them for years. About $80.

4-Note Cadillac Horn Units.

Go to “Cadillac Four Note Horns”
Local 12599 iaff

for wiring schematic. Big amp draw. Spend to do it right.

Have done this 4-5 times past thirty years.

Have a set waiting now. The golden trick is mount them between inner & outer fender wells. Resonance. One each at each corner (two left and two right).

For S&G I found a STEBEL Nautilus at a giveaway price. I’ll mount it where stock pieces are. (Medium high tone)

The German-made HELLA Autobahn horns I’ll move to grille with a DIY bracket behind some window screen. (Very sharp high tone)

Six Electric Horns
plus a compact electric air horn
should do it.

If:
1). Cad Horns in wells
2). STEBEL in engine Compartment
3). HELLA pair pointed directly forward at top dead center of grille . . .

. . THAT will be cooking with gas.

)Tried to embed sound of others. Try Utube. Imagine combined.)

High notes (directional) versus lower notes (surround sound; that Eldo clip sound is dead accurate) makes the jelly brains go nuts. It’s a helluva thing.

Think a leading hit with a left, and follow with a knockout from the right (it’s like EVERYONE started honking at them). The low notes arrive at a different time and from a different direction (basically).

Last time I had a setup like this (with a 3’ Buick trumpet underhood), I nailed some jerk. Almost hit it again. And looked over to see a Godzilla-sized cop wagging a 2x4 finger at me. Okay. (But he was smiling).

If you skimp on install, you’ll dim headlights and motor will die after awhile (I like to let mine off the leash).

If you find a few extra at the junkyard, mount them under the bed. Up away from spray and such. Plenty of sound is non-directional. (And it “could” make it harder to ID you in multi-lane traffic. Stare hard at the soi-boy in the ricer next to you before sounding off. )

Loud = Best Ground. Test. Lay it all out after test fitting mounts and measure amp draw. Consult 3% voltage drop chart.
6-AWG may be necessary.

The better the wiring, the easier to manipulate the horn switch. From a bare toot, to a full blast. Choices. (Replay video)

Naw, that’s for powerjokes and maxi pads.

GROVER Stutter-tone

TDR is so old we learned about the time some of you all were graduating from grranimals underwear that the aforementioned was known as

The Grover Enema

Learn the local first responder marching cadence. “Sound off, one-two . . . .”

(If you’re real brave/dumb, you’ll add the siren for verisimilitude).
