just wondering what was wrong my horn came on in the middle of the night and wouldnt quit. I took the battery terminals off for the night to get it to stop. the next day put them back on and they werent doing it. Then a few days later the same thing so i tryed taking the terminals off again to see if it would quit if i just took them off and put them back on. didnt work. so i took the 20 amp fuse out for the horn as soon as u get it near its contacts it makes a noise or sparks. so now i left it out for now i have no idea what could be wrong. and also now my batteries seem to go dead if i let the truck sit for 2 days and dont drive it. could something be drawing power or is there a relay i dont know about? any info would help. my dealers kinda far away and they had my truck for about a month the last time i was there for the transmission to be fixed. thanks

I don't know if it's the same problem, but my previous truck was an 04 1500 and one night the horn was coming on intermittently, so I pulled the fuse and took it to the dealer. If I recall correctly, they had to replace part of the steering wheel assembly.

horn stuck on

This is usually caused by the horn pad (switch). In cold weather the metal strips that are seperated by a very thin foam pad will curl and make contact through the worn out foam pad. A new switch will fix the problem.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had this happen. There ain't nothin' better than having the horn scream @ 1am. Before it let loose that night, my truck would periodically " HONK " at me. I thought it was just saying " Howdy ".

Mine is back at the dealer for the same problem. The horn would go off whenever it got to -20F. The dealer first changed a relay in the FCM but then the horn didn't work at all so it's back again. The horn button explanation given by LMcCary makes sense to me and that is what I assumed was the problem.
