2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Horn Relay

To all,

My 95 Ram 4 x 4 decided to event a horn problem. The horn will slightly work once in a while. I tried the ground to frame, checked the connections then started to check the horn relay. It passed the first 2 test but then I got to the "Connect a battery to terminals 85 and 86". I decided that I was confused enough. What battery and how does one do this. Is it really the relay?

Terminals 85 & 86 are the two outboard of the three small parallel terminals on the micro relays in the Ram Power Distribution Center. The two large parallel contacts (87 & 30) are the switch that is closed when 12 volts is applied to terminals 85 & 86.



Why don't you just swap a few of the micro relays in the PDC and see if that cures the horn problem?

I was away for a week and thanks for the reply. Are there specific micro relays that I can temporarily swap in the PDC? If so, which ones?

I swapped relays around and still no horn. So I guess the relay is not the problem. What else could be wrong??
