Am I correct with this equasion to get torque readings?

H. P X 5252 Divided by RPM = Torque

235 X 5252 divided by 2700 = 457. 11851 foot pounds of torqe.

I was using this being my local dyno does not have torque readings, and using D/C's advertized horsepower readings in the brochure the torque answer seems correct no?

Toolman,
Your math is correct. In order to calculate horsepower from torque, just reverse the equation:

HP= Torque X RPM divided by 5252.

Sometimes its fun to look at advertising numbers and do the math to see if they are legitimate numbers or made up.

Of course advertisers often show you horsepower and torque figures at different RPMs... . Hey, I'm in marketing - don't trust the ads!! The people who write those are slippery little suckers! #ad
