Horseshoe superstitions

I'm replacing the concrete sidewalk/stairs around my house... upon jackhammering the old stuff out I found horseshoes under the old concrete every 3 to 4 feet. The old concrete is about 40 years old... .

I Goggled "superstitions" but found nothing..... anybody hear of this?

When I poured concrete, when we finished with stem walls or sidewalks or whatever, we all tossed quarters in before the mud hardened. It's good luck! How good of shape was the old concrete in?

Put the horseshoes back in the new concrete.

The old concrete had settled over the years, but was in fair shape... . I think I will put them back!!!!



Maybe thats what has kept the tornados away from this hilltop.....
