hey guys, I read somewhere that the horton electric fan clutch frees up 20 more hp when it is not on. I was just wondering if any of you guys like it or have heard anything about them. Also how much do they cost. It looks intresting and I think it might be worth purchasing... . what do ya'll think?

Several of us are running the Horton fan. I had 1 one my hotshot rig i sold and will be buying another one this summer for my other 92 D-350. A great unit. Think ? I paid 650-695. 00 for the last one. I'm sure you'll get more input on this matter soon. Mike

A few TDR's ago there was a dyno chart and it stated that the stock fan on a 2nd generation used 9 hp. It was the article that explained horsepower needed to pull different weights up different grades.

I am running a Horton on my '93 and I can count on one hand the numbers of times it has come on in the last year and those are with the A/C on. It has not come on due to heat but in response to high pressure in the A/C system. I picked up 1 mpg with it so it has almost paid for itself.
Happy Trails

A couple of Perma-Cool 14" electrics mounted side by side gives you 4000cfm and costs less than $200! Works great for me in South Florida!
