Well it's in and working, now we'll see the difference on the fuel consumption... .
A couple of observations... .
(1) Due to wiring changes by DC during the 2001 model year, the Horton supplied wiring loom extension doesn't hook into the +12v DC switched circuit via a modular plug - you have to splice it in. The instructions said do this with the light green and black wire, except mine was brown and black and no I'm not color blind!!
(2) It would be appreciated if Horton had tagged the various ends of the wiring loom extension with a short label that uniquely identfies where it would hook into the loom. , no big deal but a nice touch.
(3) The Horton supplied bracket to provide support to the fan clutch itself is not long enough on its own to do the job (at least on a 2001). I had to fabricate an extension.
(4) In order to remove the fan shroud and get the original fan out, you have to remove the radiator overflow container to make things easy. When reinstalling the container, make sure it clicks securely and correctly into place on the lower mounting position. If it isn't, it will foul/make contact with the adjacent drive belt just below the alternator and before you know it, the contents of the container will be all over the floor.
