Hey Guys - Been a member since 03... not a regular posting member but I have saved THOUSANDS of dollars reading articles here and in my TDR Issues.

I would like for some Hot Shot - Transport Drivers help me out with a new Forum just for Hot Shot Delivery Drivers...

This is certainly a non-compete with TDR as I will refer to TDR often for Dodge and other issues. I would mainly like to see guys there discuss trailer and hauling issues and refer to TDR for Dodge issues.

Anyway - A fellow TDR Member trying something to help a specific section of drivers... it may have some similarity.

Hot Shot Forum

So why not request an ongoing thread within TDR dedicated to the Courier/Hot Shot service sector. This would have the advantage of being part of the larger community of TDR and give the insight and experiences of those of us who have working trucks in this sector.

I wouldn't have a problem with that - I understand the loyalty. The only reason for the Forum is for it to eventually pop up under a "Hot Shot" search.

With it being the whole reason and content - I'm hoping that will be the case.

If you punch in Turbo Diesel into Google - the first thing is Turbo Diesel Register. Believe me - Nothing will replace or is as good as TDR IMO.

I just would like to see something solely dedicated to that area and industry - just as TDR is so dedicated to Dodge issues.

Believe me bro - I do not want to be TDR - I just would like to see SOMETHING pop up when you type Hot Shot into Google that is specific to the industry rather than a bunch of non related things...

Brother - I appreciate your response. Hope I haven't ruffled any feathers - I'm with you on the Loyalty. Thats why I want Dodge issues referred to TDR. Hopefully I can be somewhat of a reference for TDR.

Thanks

I would love to see TDR create a sub forum or even a whole category.

I'd call it:

"Transporter/Hot Shot Forum(s)"

-Discuss commercial use, equipment, regulations, etc. here.

I think it would quickly become one of the busiest forums and might eventually deserve a whole category.

I can think of at least a dozen sub-topics:

"High mileage wear and tear. "

"Equipment for transporters. "

"Dealer directions and shortcuts. "

"Best fuel prices, stops, and parking. "

"Tolls, ferries, etc. "

"Weather alerts, Traffic alerts, Alternate directions. "

"Enforcement, DOT, and other legal issues. "

"Border crossings, customs, brokers, etc. "

In a perfect world I'd have these too:

"Dealer/Client feedback"

"Company feedback"

These (last two) might create a liabiltiy issue for TDR but...

it would be nice to have both a place to vent as well as a place to counter some of the BS and rumors...

Tough call.

... Tough call.

I know right... I don't want people to think - "well this is a come over here type thing... "

Seriously - Do a search on Hot Shot and it comes up with crap.

I hope it works out. Just please - nobody get off thinking this is some parking lot preacher trying to woo the sheep.

I happen to think TDR is tops and THE HEADLINE for Dodge diesels - And there should be something for those who search "Hot Shot" "Hot Shoting" "Hot Shots".

Thats why the title is "Hot Shot Drivers".

I appreciate the feedback.

Another good reason for the separate website is to include the guys with the Fords & Chevys. They wouldn't be of much help mechanically, but sharing info about running that kind of business could be shared. (they wouldn't have TDR access)

I think it sounds cool, and will probably take off.

There are already a few out there. Not really the busiest places though. Here is one that has a bunch of good info.
