Route suggestions to Yellowstone with the Lance cabover

Eviction

Just noticed that he had the presence of mind to turn his hazard lights on after he finished tipping over...maybe hes not an amateur after all !!! JK/LOL...sorry couldnt help it !!!

Yep, pretty sure it's a Ram.

I'm willing to be the hazards turn on automatically in the event of a crash, most likely tied to the airbags being deployed.

Didn't even think about auto hazard light deployment cuz Im still rowing my 2005.

NOT that I wouldnt enjoy driving a new truck, with some of the bells and whistles, but the $80k or more is a real turn off.

80K is a lot of bells and whistles. Even the sticker on my Laramie was 10K below that, and I got it lightly used.

But I know what you mean. Adding a truck payment wasn’t easy, but you get used to it... or so I tell myself

Look at the tailgate at end of rollover....ow vehicle IS a Ram isn;t it??

I see both things all too often.

1). Last vehicle remains in worst possible position on trailer.

2). Too fast for conditions. (He’d lost it already as video starts).

The trailer brakes AREN’T effective IN THE NECESSARY MANNER when loaded this way.

One needs the trailer brakes to LEAD in application pressure ratio versus the pickup in this scenario. But there’s no ground pressure to compensate against premature lockup.

The brakes effectively speed up the timing of the foregone conclusion.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Barriers on both sides of lanes means engineers figure THIS scenario likely. (Note skid marks on wall).

Was there a speed advisory thru this area? (Yellow sign). 55-mph advised means run it at no more than 50-mph (black box recording ones actions).

One gets below even THAT and starts to accelerate AFTER the curve apex TO BRING THE TRAILER AROUND (trailer tire drag uneven; Ackermann Angle) to HOLD 48-50/mph.

Assuming the trailer loaded correctly in the first place.

“But I am only going 12-miles with the last vehicle!”

(Everyone in that video has TOO LITTLE separation distance from each other. Idiot with camera is going to get hit from behind and piled into the wrecked vehicle in a typical worst case scenario).

“Stupid #1 wrecks his vehicle, and Stupid #2 gets killed (by Stupid #3 in a dump truck plowing into the wreck from behind).

You know what’s on their minds (words to their own defense)? It was the other guys fault.

Gravestone carving.

Dumb Dually Driver: betcha no seatbelt or seatbelt too slack to keep body from submarining out from under belt. (Below hipbones, only).

There’ll be no end to “stupid” found were there any investigation.

The baby daddy marked as his “father” should have to put him down. And then follow suit.

There are no “accidents”.

Or you just buy a gently used poor man's Tradesmen :D

No, you check the engine hours for AVERAGE MPH

I bought mine at (3) years old and 127k miles. Had been sitting 6-mos since trade-in. An average of 47-mph. Means the operator never stopped except for diesel & cigarettes. Near zero idle time. No 5er/GN hitch, perfect paint, original tires, commercial owner. Only service given was a brake re-line by dealer.

Xtra-low price as no one else wanted a relative high-miles 2WD, long-bed & NV5600.

Took it to another dealer service-advisor friend for examination. Three men in that shop lined up to buy it if I didn’t.

Bought it for a song. When at dealer someone had removed the tow mirrors (check body build tag). I got a set of alloy wheels as a free trade upgrade (plus install).

Depreciation has been $3-4K versus what I paid after thirteen years of ownership. $500 in repairs as I close in on a quarter-million miles.

Look to the VERY big picture.

And unlike the stupids, operate it “as if” you can never again get tires for it.

That approach fixes nearly every bad habit once you think it through.

Sure as hell never puts you in the position of Dumb Dually Driver.
