First tow today and beat a Powerstroke

Hey guys... for those of you with contacts with people who need trailers hauled for $$,i'm interested in doing this... while i still have a decent truck to do it with anyway, and while i'm young and free. Anybody have tips, pointers, cautions about this field of work? And ask around also for me, because California doesn't have that many places wanting or needing hot-shotters... ... Thanks. :)

It seems like these guys are getting insured through a "hot-shot" company or team that they belong to... . so what do i do if i'm by myself towing for a few different outfits or what not... how does that work? don't i just need my own trucks' insurance and they have their own for their merchandise?

If you "lease on" to one company you'll be on their insurance. If you want to haul for multiple companies you'll need your own authority and insurance. Plus you'll have to negotiate for your own loads with manufacturers. For a lease arrangement they generally want newer equipment. Sorry if I'm raining on your parade but this is what you need to know.
