Competition Hottest EGT for the 1/8 mile ?

What is the hottest temp you guys are seeing in the 1/8 mile with a single charger? I just got a new TST box and I"m trying to get some idea on how hard I can push the temps for 8 or 9 seconds. ( saving for twins) Any advice would be helpful, John

I just got back from the track, made three passes and the first one was the best. I sure thought my 60 ' time would be better.

EGT's off the dial about 100' from the finish line,I don't guess it hurt anything but I I'm done drag racing until I can afford a set of twins.

What boost did you launch at? With a 4X4 I would have thought it would have been in 1. 8 range myself.

mcoleman, I was launching in 4x4 at about 20 lbs of boost, It was hooking up good ,very little tire spin and when it shifted into 2nd I switched back to 2 wheel drive. I need more air,( and a better paying job) I told my wife I wanted twins for christmas, will see.

Dang, I would expect closer to a 1. 80 with that much boost at the launch. We just recently ran a friend of mines truck Friday night and he ran an 8. 58 at 82. 14 mph in the 1/8 with a 1. 9697. He was only leaving at 6 to 8 pounds of boost because of traction issues. He ran a 13. 252 at 101. 78 in the 1/4. I think his truck would run 12s pretty easy with slicks and a high boost launch. He dynos in at a little under 500hp. But it's a 2wd quad cab. The faces of the kids in the F-bodies and Mustangs as he is pulling away from them is priceless.

Before I put the tst box on there I made one pass,2. 1 60' and 77. 07 mph in the 1/8. I weighed the truck with my toolbox and it topped the scales at 7650 lbs(maybe 175lbs of tools) I took the toolbox Friday, NO excuses need more air.
