Hour meter

Last nite I changed the oil and filter, And I can not remember how to get the hours on the engine.

1st I got in the truck fastened the seat belt, pushed the tripmeter turned the key to the on position, watched the light show saw now codes stored And ---- but no hours.

2nd I turned the key to the on position 3 times message said done went back to the total milage.

I did it on my 2000 mile oil change it showed 72 hrs,now the truck has 6000 miles on it.

Could it be it only goes so far and not show the hundred or thousand hrs.

Turn the ignition key on and with the mileage displayed, push and hold the button. It will take about 5 seconds for the hour display to appear. If you hold the button down with the trip mileage displayed, it will reset it as you already know. That's how I remember - I can't reset the total mileage!!

I did that a couple of times left the button in for the entire test. still no hrs

Scott, make sure you turn ignition on first and miles are displayed then push and hold the button in!

I wonder how many hours you should run between oil changes ?

For me 150 hours or so equals about 5-6,000 miles depending on trip length , close enough for me to track oil change intervals!

Is this something available on the 02? I tried it and nothing happened except I reset the trip odometer. What am I missing
