Houston fuel costs vs biodoesel

If you live in the Houston area I noticed that the biodiesel price here is running about . 20 cents cheaper a gallon than the cheapest diesel fuel. I have been running a tank of the B100 every couple of months but now I think I will start using it all the time.

Just be aware that there is a chance of algae contamination forming with straight B-100, I would treat occasionally with a algaecide.

It will also typically contain less energy than D2, resulting in greater fuel consumption.

I tried B-100 in my pulling tractor, smelled great, pulled poorly to say the least. It felt as though the engine was down 100 hp or more. Although the B-20 bio blend seems to have some horsepower gain from dino diesel.
