Diesel Innovations (DI) in hosting HAPS (Houston Area Power Strokes.com) 1 year anniversary event.
I along with DI would like to invite the TDR and the LSTDR guys / gals and families. With this being the inaugural year for the DHRA (Diesel Hot Rod Assoc. ) and me being the Division 4 Director, I would like to see a lot of Ford / Dodge / GM representation.
For the people not familiar with a HAPS event, we meet once a month, usually on the second Saturday of the month and different locations around town. We always have food and do many things. Sometimes just a BBQ, others events maybe a Dyno Day, Install / Maintenance Day, or meet a local vendor shop and learn about Diesel trucks.
On Saturday, January 11th, HAPS along with Diesel Innovations will host a Install / Maintenance Day. Diesel Innovations product line includes Bullydog exhaust, Autometer gauges, propane systems, chips (4 bank, custom programs), Hypermax turbos, AFE intake systems, shift kits, Suncoast torque convertors, oil changes and light maintenance of diesel trucks (Cummins, Duramax & Powerstroke). If you are interested in aftermarket truck accessories, give David a call (713-984-9441).
Diesel Innovations has a large concrete parking lot. We encourage the kids to bring bicycles, roller blades and basketballs. A basketball goal will be provide. If weather becomes an issue, everything will go on as planned inside the large shop area.
TIME:
David will open up his shop for the guys that want to work on their trucks at 10 AM.
The HAPS meeting, food and raffle will begin at 2PM.
INSTALL:
Diesel Innovations will provide a place for you to work on your truck. You will have to provide most of your own tools. If there is a specialty tool needed to do your install, we can work something out with David. David and his staff will be present to answer any questions you might have.
Maintenance:
If you would like to do some preventative maintenance (Oil Change, Fuel Filter Change, etc. ) on your truck, Diesel Innovations has a oil drum to dump your old oil. Once again you must supply most of your tools and David and his staff will be present for questions and guidance.
SWAP MEET
Lots of you say you have some parts you want to sell or are looking for something specific. Bring the items you want to sell. We will have an area for a swap meet. If it's a large item, you might want to post it to this topic and see what kind of response you get before you load it in your truck. Or post here for something you are looking for.
RAFFLE:
Thanks to Mike Hunsicker with Blue Diamond Parts, we will be raffling off another die-cast Power Stroke Truck and a Power Stroke Clock. Diesel Innovations will also offer some discount coupons.
DINNER:
Like all HAPS meetings, we will be eating. With a little luck we will have fajitas with the special sauce.
DO BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS AND CHIPS.
DIRECTIONS:
Diesel Innovations (713-984-9441) address is 11915 Windfern. That is between Perry Road and Sam Houston Beltway 8. This is in the general area of the Sam Houston horse track, but on the opposite side of the highway.
From FM 1960, go south on Perry about a mile and turn left (east) on Windfern. It is about a half-mile on the right.
From the north side of Houston, take Sam Houston Beltway 8 (west or south) and exit Gessner. Stay on the feeder and turn right onto Windfern. It is located about a half mile past the curve on the left.
From the west side of Houston (I-10 & Beltway 8 or 290 & Beltway 8), take Sam Houston Beltway 8 (north or east). Exit Gessner and make the U-turn under the freeway. Stay on the feeder and turn right onto Windfern. It is located about a half mile past the curve on the left.
PS:
Since HAPS will be providing food, I "DO" need a head count. So "DO" post to this topic and let me know how many people are coming.
Hope to see you sometime Saturday, January 11th.
