I want to convert my single rear wheel to DRW. I also want to convert it to 10 bolt wheels. I wonder if somebody could make an adapter that does both.
 
You will be moving the centerline for weight carrying outboard probably 2-3 inches. This puts more leverage on the axle housing and bearings, actually reducing carrying capacity.
 
If you look at the GVW of a SWR vs DWR there is only like 500 lbs. The only real advantage is that you lower the ground pressure and spread the load over 2 tires vs 1. and the CON is having to buy 2 more tires when it comes time to replace the darn things.
 
I'm just doing this for looks and a little more stabilty. I would love to make make my truck look like a quad cab version of DWiggs over on DTR. It would be easy to buy one adapter to make my truck a 10 bolt dually instead of a dually adapter and a 10 bolt adapter.

Actually Hercules has a QC - not a Megacab. There is about 1800lbs difference between SRW and DRW on the QC.



The reason for the reduced Megacab GVW is because of the shorter bed. If loading block or rock, there is about 2 feet less bed space between the axles, thus more of the payload weight is forced to be carried behind the rear axle. So they dropped the numbers accordingly.



When pulling a 5er there is really no difference between a DRW QC or Megacab because all of the payload weight is on the pin and over the axle. I pull a 5er so the DRW gives me peace of mind and the knowledge that I've got a lot of breathing room even though the door sticker doesn't say so.
