How About a Garage Sale or Flea Market Forum

I think it would be nice to have a Forum for the members to post odd stuff that they want to sell, like an online Flea Market. I know there is a classified section for them to post the stuff, but not many of the guys think to look through that stuff on a regular basis to see if there might be something they want. The Forums seems to be an easier way to browse through stuff, like you would at a Flea Market. We could limit the number items to prevent abuse by guys who want to sell quantities for profit.

Solution

Putting them in the forums has several disadvantages:



1. You don't get keyword notification.

2. You're limited in picture size.

3. They NEVER expire and we have to handle expirations by hand.

4. There is no consistant format for ads.

5. They get posted immediately instead of having to be approved by TDR first.

6. There are many adminstrative functions not handled by forums that are handy for ads



Even if you don't browse them on a regular basis, many others do, according to the server logs. The solution, IHMO, is to browse the classifieds on a regular basis.
