How about a Turboanomalizer??

How about a Turbonormalizer??

Ok I am still dreaming about the speedy boost climb I could get down at sea level and am somewhat determined to make that happen in my favorite place here in Colorado.

Some smaller turbo'd planes and helicopters are running a turbonormalizer system to cure performance problems at higher altitudes thus allowing higher service ceilings and heavier takeoff weights at altitude.

There has got to be a way to set one of these up on a CTD. Anyone have some ideas??

Turbonormalizing is simply using a turbocharger to create sea level or close to sea level manifold pressure at altitudes above sea level. The altitude that can be normalized is dependant on the particular system. Your Cummins would be a sick pig if you "normalized" it, at 7500 feet and 59* with no/low humidity it would limit you to about 6 PSI of boost or a little less since that is all it takes to create sea level air density in the intake.

To get the same boost in the same amount of time you did at sea level when at altitude you need FUEL, and the byproduct will be SMOKE and lots of it. An HY-35 if you don't have one now will help some too, but will choke the top end down some.
