How about some predictions on my E.T.'s (Results Posted)

Would anyone like to take a guess as to what my truck will run in the quarter mile?

I plan on taking it to the track this coming friday to find out for sure. Hope the weather stays nice.

As a side note. Stock, it ran avg 17. 6 @ 78 mph, with a comp w/no pump wire and no turnbuckle, it ran avg 16. 5 @ 82.

Since the 16. 5 @ 82mph, I've added a turnbuckle to the HY, hooked up the pump wire, added DD2's, and have an awesome DTT transmission with 89R torque converter. More specifics about the truck are listed below in sig.

How about some guesses for et and mph and I'll post the true results after friday, we'll see who is closest.

Chris,

Where are you in Maryland, and what track are you going to run at? Mine isn't ready to race yet, but I usually go to MIR to watch anyhow.

Ted

Ted,

I'm over on the shore, not far from annapolis. I usually go to capitol raceway because it is a lot closer for me, but I'm sure at some point I'll be down to MIR. My roomate from college lives near La Plata. Where about's are you?

I saw your truck on the rollers at Kaufman's. I'm guessing your a little faster than I am;)

Chris

Chris, your truck is strong, I am betting your tapping the high 13's with that beast. Im saying 13. 9-14. 1. I hope you did some EGT reduction work. On one last thing I snapped my output shaft at the track last sunday,on the first pass. 4wd launches caught up with me. :( . Have fun and line up against some unsuspecting ricer:D :D .

John, Man that stinks about the output shaft. Hopefully i won't follow in your footsteps on that one. I have become addicted to the 4wheel drive launch, (which you are responsible for teaching me), so I'm going to have to be careful. :D

I've got a megacannon on the way, will be here in next day or so. I'm still trying to figure out which exhaust I want to buy. Probably isn't as big of a decision as I'm making it out to be. Then the PDR HX40, then the drag upgrade for the comp, then...

If I touch the 13's I'll be one happy camper. Hopefully I'll find out soon enough.

Take care,

chris

I think upper 13's real low 14's. When do the gates open my work is not far from Capitol, and I need to make some runs.

Kenny,

Gates are supposed to open at 5pm, racing starts at 5:30.

I plan on making a few runs at least.

If you do go, and see a black/gray diesel, come over and say hi. I'd like to meet some more people from the TDR.

Here is the link to capitol's website: www.capitolraceway.com

Chris,

I am down south in St Marys County. MIR is only 10 minutes or so from my house.

Maybe I will try to get by Capitol Raceway and give some moral support.

My truck should be back on the road here in another two weeks or so, maybe then I'll come up and we can both put on a show for the crowd.

KenneyM,

Are you going to be there racing also?

Ted

I was planning on racing, but the Wife has other plans. Also my lift pump crapped out on the way home last night (0 PSI). Good luck and I hope you get into the 13's. Ken

I still plan on racing tomorrow as long as the weather looks ok.

I just put the mega cannon on tonight, and it seems to have helped the egt's a lot. Exactly how much I can't say, because I used to peg the 1500 pyro quick. Now it climbs a lot slower and doesn't make it much past 1400. It is LOUD though. Not sure how much I'm going to like it when making the commute to and from work, etc.

Bill, I hope I do better than a 14. 5, but we'll see.

If the weather is good, I hope to meet a few of you at the track.

Chris

The weather held last night, and I was able to race.

The truck was really consistent when I didn't screw up. One time, I had OD locked out and stopped accelerating before the end of the track. Once, i tried to run in two wheel drive but couldn't hook up, even after "warming" the tires a little. Another time I forgot the fueling box was off, ran a 16. 09@83. 14. Another time, i red lighted, but instead of going, I stopped and waited for it to turn green and then went. You should have seen the 60ft on that run. Ran a 15 something @95mph that time.

My good runs were as follows.

RT's - . 640, . 642, . 645, . 573, . 541

60ft's - 1. 859, 1. 909, 1. 869, 1. 898, 1. 870

1/8th - 8. 832@76. 46, 8. 896@76. 44, 8. 850@76. 50, 8. 865@76. 58, 8. 820@76. 61

1/4 - 14. 050@94. 98, 14. 100@95. 10, 14. 008@95. 91, 14. 071@94. 84, 14. 027@95. 23

How close can you get to 13's and still be a 14 second truck? I think I know the answer to that.

So next time I'll have to add another toy, or take out the pintle hook, chains, super sized soda, etc. before I run.

Thanks DTT(and John), DD and edge for a lot of fun and a very consitent truck.

Later,

Chris

John,

I still have the stock turbo and exhaust. I plan on changing that soon.

Next up will be an exhaust, PDR40 and then the drag upgrade for the comp. We'll see after that.

Chris

I wish I could figure out why my trap speed is so low. I ran my truck at Bandimere last year and the best I could do was about 16. 5@83. 3. At the time, I still had a regular comp and the stock HX35, but you guys are considerably faster with a similar setup. Is it the weight of a 3500 (~7600 lbs) or the elevation (~5500ft)?

Kevin

Kevin,

I'm far from an expert, but your times seem substantially slower than I would think they should be. My truck ran a 16. 5 @ 82 mph with a stock trans, stock injectors, Comp with no pump wire as only mod. I know your truck is heavier than mine, but I think you should be somewhere in the 14's or low 15's at least with your mods.

Are you sure the pump wire has a good connection on the comp box? I hope some of the guys with more experience than me chime in to help you out with your questions.

Kenny,

I can't say for sure if I'll be able to make it on the 18th, but I'll try to. Hope things work out and we can have a few trucks there at least.

Ted, is your truck going to be ready by then?

Later,

Chris

Kenny, somethign is wrong with your truck,IMO. you should be a bit faster. What is your max boost ,and EGT with the Comp on levels 1x5,,and level 5x5? I think Chris has the answer, the pump wire may not be making contact.

I've also wondered about the pump wire, but there is a definite difference between 1x5 and 5x5. On 5x5, I can peg my EGT gauge above 1500 and I'm billowing out black smoke. The truck seems to really run strong, but my trap speed doesn't show it. I'm taking it to a dyno day event next weekend, so maybe I'll see something there.

Thanks for the input,

Kevin
