What kind of fluid is good in the rear diff??

I just got the 5600 today, then the UPS guy comes tonight, with my stuff from genos... first, I am going to have to get pretty damn creative with the length of the wires for the sending unit for transmission temp gauge. second, sending unit, when inserted into plug in fast cooler, does not even go into housing. it is ¼" to 1/8" outside of main part. . with this being the COOLER, will the temps be close to the same as in the main part of the transmission? I know some of y'all have these, and would appreciate it if y'all chimed in. . Thanks a million.

Charlan:

I can't testify to the accuracy of a temp sensor in a cooler line. I've always mounted the sensor in the trans pan. That's where the "action" is. It's not hard at all to braze in an NPT fitting to the pan or have a radiator shop do it for you. Then repaint the pan install it and you are good to go. You KNOW you can trust those readings.

Charlan,

I don't it would matter much since there will be fluid touching the probe. Just be sure to mount the fast cooler with the probe close the the transmission.
