Guys - Ordered a truck mid March, was finally able to get a VON from my dealer this week.

According to the Insight site, I'm scheduled for delivery on 5/28. For those who tracked their trucks, were the delivery dates fairly accurate?

Were your actual delivery dates days or weeks away from the Insight dates?

Thanks,

Mark

Based on my recent experience, until it is in the hands of the motor carrier for the last leg of delivery, the delivery date is very flexible. My projected delivery date slipped several weeks, though it ended up getting here 3 days sooner than the final date. It just depends.

I know I am old enough that my wants won't kill me ;) but the wait nearly did :)

insight shows mine was picked up on the 5th and is to be delivered on the 10th. it was delivered to the dealer on the 4th and to me on the 6th. 1 day short of 10 weeks from order date.

mine sat in saltillo from 03/18 until 04/14 and then was loaded on a railcar for 5 days. then from 04/26 until ???? in baltimore. was del to dealer on 05/04. my delivery date was moved from 04/17 several times til now. it still doesn't recognize delivery. it'a approx but seems be very unreliable.

Mine was completed on 03/25 with a 04/11 estimated delivery. It ended up sitting in Mexico for almost a month and now the delivery is 05/17 and keeps changing.

Hello Manasquan ... . Point here. Mine is on a fishing trip somewhere in the Atlantic. Insight was on the money UNTIL the truck reached the port of Vera Cruz. Every day delivery date and date to reach Baltimore increases. In bay at facility Vera Cruz. What ever that means:confused:

We would be better off having one of Bogan's boats pick them up. :-laf

Where did you get your truck??????

Tally's says there is nothing they can do to expedite delivery until it reaches Baltimore. Seems logical ... . there is not much control over ships loading and unloading and how long it takes from port to port.

I ordered 04. 5 4dr Laramie 600 6spd lbx on 09Feb. It was 'plant released on 28Apr and still sits in the Satillo yard awaiting a rail car. At today, it is sked for delivery to my dealer on 25 May but that date keeps slipping back, day by day, every day.

I see other Rams at my dealer just off the truck all covered in brown dirt and dust from the long trip by rail and road. I notice they put plastic sheeting on the hood and some other exposed parts to protect the paint or maybe to make it more aerodynamic for the train trip north.

Mt dealer will install a 'Jake' and 'XMonitor' pillar gauges if the truck ever arrives. Fortunately he has not asked me to pay for the parts yet.

Seems sad that transporting the finished product to the customer is so time consuming given the speed of information these days!

I ordered my truck from Buhler in Eatontown, NJ.

Didn't have a good experience with Circle in Brick, so it was between Tally's and Buhler. In the end, both offered the truck at cost, but, when we discussed a trade in, Buhler offered $1500 more.

Insight is a joke. No wonder dealers don't use it... the one's that know it even exists that is. My truck was ordered before Xmas... just got delivered this Sat. Insight got the Date of manufacture wrong. Truck sat in Baltimore for months until it was "accidentaly" found hiding there, despite the calls to DC from the Dealer and myself. Even if Insight is accurate (which it really isn't), once the truck hits Port, forget about tracking it.
