Actually if you have a minute you can usually tell by jacking up one side of your rear end and try turning the wheel, of course block the front wheels and have the park brake off, if you can't turn the wheel that is off the ground, chances are pretty good it is a limited slip, also check in the glove box, if your rig is like mine it'll tell you the rear end, and maybe (not sure) if it is limited slip, the might call it somethign else, but you'd get the idea... . good luck
If you still have the equipment label on the underside of the hood it will be indicated on it, assuming the original diff is still in the truck.
Plan B: Jack up the rear, truck in park or in gear, spin one back tire. Turn one tire forward and if the other goes backwards with little effort your diff is open or a really worn out LSD. If it is a LSD there should be considerable effort to spin the tires or if the clutch pacs are good you won't be able to turn the tires.
Jeez! I'm glad you guys cleared that up, I thought he was askin' about drugs or somthin. 4000# is the front axle rating, remember it when you go to buy brakes, etc. , it will help. Glad to hear about the diesel option!
