Thanks to the friend that provided these great pics!:)

Cool ride but!

1. Does he shoot water to cool it.

2. How does he deal with that oil leaking Detroit..... sorry had to go there.

Seriously what are the times like or is it new in testing.

Been doing anything to the truck lately!

Jim

What!

You guys are SUPPOSED to be asleep!!! :D

I'm just here restocking the shelves you might say at the ol TDR :p

Anyone In Tulsa?

I'm fixin to purchase a new "03 from Melton Sales near Tulsa OK. Anyone in the area? Just wish someone could take a look at the truck before I fly out there. It's HOT in OK!

Jim, I'm trying to get more info on this dangerous lookin' monsta:-laf Will share what I find.

Of all the diesel anythings I've seen or heard of, this takes the cake. Meaning the fastest sucka on the planet:--)

UH OH! What's That?

You guys see what's tucked between the heads? The the item the turbos are feeding? Holy mother of combustion:eek:

Is that a Supercharger under the Turbos. :--)

BBBBBBoooosted isn't the word for it. Isn't Fulmer from that area where that truck is at? I live about 2 1/2 hours away in Missouri

All Detroits have a blower to get rid of exhaust... . there like a 2 stroke motor but they like turbo's on top of that.

I live about 2 hours from Tulsa and that's not bad but I will be out of town this weekend, working next week and working on the truck the following one, You might ask someone on the DTR.

A Sleep... ... . the clock on the post was wrong it was 4:30ish AM

Jim

HillCountryKid,

Similarities... ... ... . yes 6-71 = 6 cylinder's, 71 cu in per cylinders, 8 -71... ... ... you get the picture:D

HVAC,

If you get to Palmdale this year, stick around Sunday for the "Big" trucks and you'll see some of those Detroits run:)

Detroits

Seems to me most of those trucks run Detroits. That tube rail with the detroit power that runs at Palmdale doesn't hold a candle to this one in the pics above. Like Nathan said, he was in the high 12's, but I have to believe he's just taking it easy on it. It looks awfully fresh. I bet he turns the fuel up once he gets comfortable with it. Lord knows he has lots of air to burn more fuel.

Gettin' some new turbos built Grey Wolf. Been tryin to get the turbo system revamped for nearly a year now. We have the power to run 11's, if that Palmdale track isn't too greasy.

One nice thing about Detroits in terms of boost handling is their head gaskets..... er uh kind of. Weird in appearance, but very good at their job, the fire rings just lay there around the liner like a o-ring. One of the fellas that I work with is a master detroit rebuild guy and says you have to work pretty hard to blow out a head gasket. On the other hand, you can screw-up installing the little pretzel gaskets which will not make the oil play nice with the coolant :D

Russell

HVAC,

Unfortunately my memory isn't what it used to be:( However I do remember the last run of the day last year. One of the guys from Tijuana (8-92 Detroit) ran a 127 in the quarter somewhere in the 11's and that was after the engine crapped out from the nitrous coming in too soon... ... ..... He was in a stretched frame with just half a cab kind of like an old roadster.
