Thanks for all your replies.
I thought about gluing it somehow. I have some of that 3M tape mentioned by maint. man, and it's true, that stuff sticks like iron. And I discovered the plastic used is of a type that can be glued easily. But as jhnrv4 said, I'd like to be able to get to the gauges to change bulbs, etc. So I've decided to use some little plastic retainers used to hold plastic trim pieces in cars. They're generic ones from Ace Hardware. I think I put small clips on the back to make sure they stay in place. I wish mine had come with fasteners, but I think this will work out OK.
This, however, is turning out to be the easy part. I went in this morning to pick up my interior trim paint I'd ordered at the local dealership and it was waaaay off. Right trim code, just lousy color match. Didn't buy it. Went to a local auto paint supply store and they mixed me up a pint that is virtually dead on. But pricey ($27 for paint and reducer). Everything else they had as stock colors was just not close enough. I'll have to shoot the pod with my air brush.
So, if someone is having a tough time matching trim code R1C3, a sort of mist blue (mine's a '98 12V, dark amythist exterior), I'll have extra. Just send me an e-mail.
Thanks again,
JGK
