In case it isn't clear, I made up sort of a "Y" connector the inserted into the fuel vapor return that runs next to the main filler tube...

I cut the tank vent line where it goes up to the filler hole and installed a TEE fitting there. I used copper pipe fittings like in a house and they slide right into the rubber hose. I soldered a threaded connector to the center leg of the TEE to adapt it to whatever hose fittings I used and used an automotive after market electric fuel pump to start the siphon and it works good.

For plumbing I rubber hosed it into the filler neck, both drain and vent lines. Ball valve on the drain line. Drilled holes in the filler neck and screwed in 14" hose X 1/8"NPT, generously gooped with JBWeld. While I was at it I removed that pesky check valve in the neck.

Works for me!

Aux. tank

Remove the filler neck and braze a 1/4" pipe coupling onto the filler neck and vent line. You need to vent from the main tank to the aux. to be able to run fuel without any problems. I have a valve in mine at the tank. I come out the top of the tank, bought a pickup tube at local marine dealer. I also have a small pump and filter in the line, I pull fuel through the filter to protect the pump. Also have a 12v valve in the line so when pump is off fuel won't syphon into main tank. bg
