2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission how do I get my computer to show codes

I've searched for this and I can't find the answer.



I've got a check engine light and would like to see the code. I cycled the key three times and that did not work, is this the right way?

I don't have my Haynes book at the moment to see, but assuming the OBD-2 scanners work for both gas and diesel engines, you can go to Auto-Zone and use their scanner for free. It will show the code(s), and can also erase them. The plug is under the dash on the knee bolster.

The only years the three times on/off trick doesn't work are '98 & '99, you have use a code reader.
