If you can find a way to hit it with 2 hammers from opposite sides, that usually works wonders. Actually, you don't even strike the stabilizer itself, you hit the tie rod where the link attaches. It's pretty tight there for swinging hammers, so I had to resort to a small puller - like a pitman arm puller. Good luck.
 
I used a propane torch to get mine off. I beat the heck out of it and it wouldn't budge without heat.

i used a tie rod puller (snap on). tightned it down and tapped on the rod with a hammer and it popped right off. ken
 
i don't have an air hammer, i was thinking that too. Used to i bought tools because i wanted them, but now with this truck it makes me buy tools. I think tim allen would really like this truck.
