When I put my slide in camper on the rear end drops about 5" on my 2000 3500,4wd. I am considering installing air-bag type load levelers. I have seen ads for Air-Lift and Firestone and would like some advice from someone with the same setup. I don`t want to effect the ride height when empty. Can anyone comment?

Ride Rites, Air Lift, Had them both, both work good. The Ride Rites run a little more$$$.

I personally have never run with any air in them when empty but the directions say to run 5 psi to keep them from "rubbing internally" what ever that means I've never done it.

I guess the trick set up would be the on board compressor.

Mac

Firestone air bags here. They work great. I cut my spring spacer blocks in half to lower my back end of my truck so it sits leval when empty. When I hook up my 5vr she squats & I bring it back to leval with the air bags. This way your head lights aren't blinding anyone at nite & the ride is smooth. One of these days I'll get my onboard air system put together so I can air them up from inside the cab & have air to air up tires.

Air Bags

With air bags and a compressor and get yourself a automatic level ride like the big rigs have on them, which i have on my truck and the more weight you put on the truck it automatically levels it out and when you unload your truck it dumps out the excess air and keeps the truck level all the time. SWEET!!!! :D
