I am installing stainless steel fender trim, and it overlaps the CTD emblems on the front fenders. I have tried heat and WD-40, neither one loosened the sticky tape holding them on. Does any one know what will release these things?

I would like to remove, or relocate them.

Pull and pull and pull. Might have to ask a body shop. Seems like you could get something under there and work it loose, maybe an exacto knife or something like that.

I debadged my truck, well most of it and the fishing line works very well.

The adhesive well thats another story. I used a product made to remove labels and it was still a pain in the you know what!

I had to remove mine to get the Bush Whacker flares on. A hot air gun and a little prying with with a plastic spatula. You have to put a fair bit of heat to them as there held on with very thin double sided adhesive foam tape of good guality. It took about 1min. per badge to get them off. Pete

Eraser wheel

Any quality detail shop will use two tools to remove decals. The first one is called a bone and looks like a plastic spatula, the other is a soft rubber wheel that they just hook to a power drill. If it is done right you will never know they were there. Just stay away from any kind of metal, razor blades, knifes or the like.....

I agree with Fireman (he should know about heat rite?;) ). I just pulled mine off and worked at the goo with my thumb, WD, and alcohol. (The alcohol was for me by the way. ) :D

I've heard fishing line to get it off and a product called Goof-Off from home depot works GREAT for adhesives.

I "use"archery fishing line, couple wraps around each hand a foot apart or so.

Use a sawing action pulling up on the back of the emblem and there you go.

Role off the adhesive with your hand.

Finish off with GOO BE Gone adhesive remover or similar product.

rjrepo

I removed mine just as rjrepo mentioned. A Friend owns and auto body shop and that is how they do it and it works well with no signs of where the emblems were.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I ended up using a hair dryer and a plastic putty knife. the emblems popped right off. I found that rubbing alcohol worked as a solvent to loosen the adhesive.

A coat of wax and you cannot tell they were ever there.

RScharbach-Are you going to reapply the emblems? If not and you want to get rid of them I would be interested. :)
