Pulled my comp box off without disconnecting the harness for a update and the check engine light came on. I disconnected the batterys for 30min and its still on. I know that there was a model change concerning codes, does this mean I need a scanner to turn it off?
My buddy was still at work so I used his scanner. Just had a map sensor code from disconnecting the harness, just like the instuctions warned! Wow, figure that one out genius! But if still ran is what I needed to know, and it did. Thanks guys!
my light has been on for years now--sometimes it goes out for an hour, but then comes back on--our trucks aren't programmed like later ones, where the light will go out after a few on's and off's with the key--sometimes doing the battery trick will work and sometimes not---chris
mine would come on often when my apps was bad but it always went away after running it three or four times without having the apps go out. I finally got the apps replaced and it has stayed off ever since. never had to run codes or use a scanner or anything.
