How do I tell if my Axle is a Dana 70 or Dana 80?

I'm intested in what my truck is as well as how to tell the difference between the two. Such as when I'm at a junkyard looking for parts.

Roughly Speaking

The Dana 70 center section is nearly round, mostly symetrical, looks just like the cover on the front Dana 60 on the 4x4.



The Dana 80 center section appears to be tall and narrow.

Should have an "80" molded into the pumkin, just above the drive shaft...
