How do you grease the tie rod ends?

I realize this is a beginner question, but the service manual makes it look like there are three spots to grease when greasing the tie rod ends not just two. Is this the case? How do you know when you've added enough grease - is it just like the old trailer bearings where the old grease runs out the back? Thanks for the help.

Grease fittings

On my 03 there are only 2, just inside each front tire on the tie rod end. They will only hold one or two pumps. As you squeeze, you will hear air popping noises if its quiet in your garage just prior to a thin ribbon of grease coming out. Wipe all excess away and don't get it on the inside of the tire. Thats all there is to it. Ken Irwin

I bought Slick 50 grease at Walmart and it had the letters on the lable that the owner's manual said were acceptable for wheel and chassis lubrication. I think that is good, but I don't really know for sure.

I like Mobil 1 synthetic grease... . can be found anywhere.

MMead; I have greased a lot of vehicles in my long life. Yesterday I had my travel traler apart. It had lots of fittings that need attention. The way I did them was that I took a foor jack and lifted the wright off the fitting then gave them a good shot of grease( On any vehicle you can do this but sometimes I am to lazzy). Then I wiped them all clean. No, havent got under my new 04 tp even look how the oil filter comes off.
