What are benefits of BHAF

I used a set of stage 3's for this last dyno meet. Since we have several different members selling EDM's. Lets see some hard HP/TRQ numbers from these other vendors. Not seat of the pants, or G-TECH numbers, but real dyno numbers. I have yet to see any from J. R. 's EDM's, or the Buddha ECM's.

777,

I'd be more than happy to put my truck on the dyno, but we don't have any around here. So, I guess we'll have to wait to Thunder in Muncie to see what these injectors do. I'd put money on it that these injectors make more hp alone, than my old SM's and the comp box on.

JR, what if I want the biggest set of Black magics that are still street-able at sea-level? This is my daily driver. :)

The Black Magics for you would be the stage 1's. These have no smoke at idle and flow twice that of stock. BM1's are the cutoff for the street. :)

What are the HP rating of those? I currently have DD3's and want more, more, more. :D

Here is a quote from another site.

Yup, got a big ;D on my face from them injectors... . now if I can just get J. R. to make up a few to market through Black Mountain Diesel... .

Totally insane, I'm constantly watching my mirrors for the DMV nazis !

The truck ran a 480 HP with just the Van Aaken, the TST PM3 was turned off on that run ! I haven't turned it back on since, and can't, until I get bigger lines, a better pump, and twin turbos on there.

With the TST on level 4, it hit 497 HP ! As is, with the TST off, it breaks the tires loose on dry pavement, in 3rd and 4th, unintentionally !

Here is another one.

I saw 474hp on your injectors and the VA, Comp box OFF! Tom is one happy guy. As for me, well another opportuity missed, make up another "test" set JR, I'll run those! ;D

Later, Rob

J. R. ,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember that thread, wasn't the other line on that dyno chat (the 444 run) with a set of DD3's and a Box on KILL! ???

Your injectors got 480 with an HX40, and didn't the fuel pressure run down to 0 on that run also? I seem to remember that thread quite well.

Just think if on that 480 run if he would have had twins to get some more air in there!! Over 500 no doubt. Oo.

EDM's are looking better and better all the time. :)

The Black Magic Stage 1's. With a small single charger you will see at least 175 HP over stock.

I know of a aux fuel system that will cure that:p

It was on a 24v wasn't it? :D

Thanks J. R. Sounds great to me. That is what I am looking for. :D Unfortunately I can pull my FP pressures down to 3 psi now... can anyone guess what my next bomb is. ;)

Alternate Fuels?

NOS ? MAPP GAS? Acetylene?

You don't want anymore fuel, you are allready down to 3PSI!!

Imprss the tree huggers,, tell them your truck runs on "alternate fuels"

Actually, it was 494 HP on the highest run with J. R. 's injectors. Yes, it yanked my FP down to nothing. The new pump/fuel lines are still sitting on the shop shelf  Hope I get time to fool with it this weekend... .

The injectors were way too much for the street, HUGE black clouds on every shift. That much smoke, you know you're not exactly contributing to the longevity of your engine.

It always comes back to the the issue of proper atomization and spray pattern as well as injector tip integrity/safety.

That's most of the reason Diesel Dynamics doesn't just sell whatever injectors they can throw at it. (BTW, I did just hit 501 HP on a very special dyno with no traction loss, using my DD3 injectors, no other changes from the 494 run ) Their stuff works, and is as safe as they can make it .

Don M has been doing some extensive research and development on injectors, and from what he's said in the past, it looks like he's on the right track. I for one, wish him well, what he's doing and how he's doing it is really cool.

At BMD, we do sell our own extreme 24V injectors, but they are built for us by a well respected diesel engineering outfit from the midwest, and are best used in competition, with the understanding that parts replacement :D may be in your future.

Those were HUGE injectors that were not meant for the street. Competition only injectors. I really did not want to run them in a truck that was not equpied for them. Hence the LOW numbers. I have a DEFINATE cut off point like I stated earlier. Everything else above that is for OFF ROAD USE ONLY!:)
