Yesterday marked 1 year since I signed for my truck. I'm logging engine hours every 6 months. After 1 full year this is what I've racked up:
25,547. 8 miles
648 hours on the engine.
That means I have been averaging:
. 02536 hours per mile
39. 43 miles per hour
1. 775 hours per day
Over 10 years of consistent driving that's 6480 hours on the engine. Doesn't seem like a lot for an engine like this, does it?
If you've been checking engine hours, how do they compare to mine? Most of my driving is highway, though the traffic frequently slows it down.
For those who don't know how to check their engine hours meter here are the steps:
Turn your key to the "Run" position, but don't crank the engine. Make sure your odometer is in the "Odometer" mode and not "Trip" mode (Trip mode displays tenths of a mile). While in odometer mode, press the reset button and hold it for about 6 seconds. The engine hours will then be displayed.
