Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How does 618 compare to 727..

as far a stregnth is concerned? Any comments on 727 to US Gear or Gear vendors overdrives? How long would it be? Thanks Scott:-{}

Also.......

anyone know when the "ultimate" 618 came out? I know they upgraded some clutch packs etc, anyone know when and What was upgraded???

In '96 the 47RE's came with 10 overdrive direct clutches instead of 9. They also have a steel front planetary instead of the old aluminum one. The rear planetary was upgraded from 3 to 4 pinion gears as well.
