Hi, I've reviewed the dodge.com site and seen the new straight/flat frame on the new 35-5500 C&C and wondering how it's frame compares to a 3500 dually pickup with the bed removed... because I want to attach an flat or stake-side bed for towing and general farm use.

Of course I'm still trying to decide on a tested & true 04. 5-06 manual shift or the new Aisin with the DPF engine:confused:

Thanks in advance.

On a C&C, the frame is straight and flat making it very simple to mount any flat bed, utility bed, box etc. . On a pick up chassis, you would need fillers to level the frame out for a flat mounting surface.

I might be mistaken but isn,t the C&C frame the same frame they will use on the new 4500 & 5500 which basically has a stronger than needed frame on the 3500 C&C.

The chassis cab frame is heavier duty, C section vs. boxed in pickups, and is 34" wide vs. 37. 5" wide on pickups. Wheelbases also vary to match various commercial beds.

As heavy as the C&C frame is I would not be suprised that the 4500/5500 use the same frame just different springs.
