I installed my TITAN tank about a week ago and am curious how many miles can i expect to go before a fillup. I am not sure if my fuel tank gauge was working for a couple of days bcus it seemed to have been stuck but it now is working. I am currently at 545 miles and still have one mark above half a tank full. I realize this is a bigger tank and am not sure if I am at the correct miles for the gauge. How far have you guys gone on a full tank running empty (no hauling), just driving back and forth to work. It was about a week b4 the fuel gauge moved off of 3/4 full mark.

I will go almost 1200 miles on my tank at about the time my low fuel warning will be lit up on my overhead. My trip meter will show + or - 630 miles before my fuel gauge needle moves of the full mark.

about 700 miles. the needle falls quickly after 1/2 tank.

fuel gauge

I was driving to work today and the needle on fuel gauge went above half full mark. But when i was driving home it started to move back down to where it was. I NOW have 702 miles on the trip meter and am not sure my fuel gauge is working properly. Right now my fuel gauge says I am right at half a tank.

time to fill up and see how much goes back in. That will tell you what you want to know without running empty... you put the pump assembly back in so the float did not hit the side of the tank, right?

float

I sure hope i did. I put the pump assembly in the tank the same direction that it was in the stock tank. I didn't think or pay any attention to the float when i put it in. I was figuring that the fuel gauge is acting like it is bcus there is no baffle in the tank and therefore whenever fuel sloshes against the float it moves. I guess maybe i will go fill up today b4 work and see how much goes back in. Hopefully the incoming fuel will move the needle on the gauge. If this keeps up I sure hope i don't have to drop the tank again and check things out.

might be float

Well i filled up today b4 work and guess what? It took 42 gallons to the fill door neck. That tells me I had at least 10 gallons left in the tank. The needle on the gauge did move but only to the 3/4 full mark. Guess i will have to keep an eye on my miles and fill up when i reach around 700+ miles. Now all I have to do is make up a plate for my floor jack so I can drop it. That probably won't be for at least a month. I hope that long of time doesn't screw up the float.

with exactly 20 gallons in my tank, I read one mark below 1/2. Glad you got some fuel! My gauge works just fine beside registering full for 250 miles. I was really careful with the float though...

float stuck

Do you think my fuel float will be o. k. or do you thing i should drop the tank as soon as possible and fix the float?

float

I think that when I put the pump assembly in the new tank that it might have been a little cock-eyed where it sits on the pump but I am not sure. I find out when I check it out.
