I'd like the Diesel Particulate Filter Housing for a project. The Local dealer doesn't have one. I'm guessing they have to return the warranted ones even if they're junk?

Does anybody have a lead on one?

07 or 08. Have they changed through the years?

That will be a tough one right now.

I don't know what Dodge is doing but Cummins requires us to return them to our distributor for cleaning, then the distributor returns them to us for reinstall. In the event of a warranty failure they go directly to RapidServe in Columbus, Indiana for evaluation.

Detroit Diesel and Cat are offering them as a Reman item even if they only need to be cleaned.

There was a high core failure rate at first with Detroit so there should be some of the early not fit to overhaul models laying around somewhere, they have since gotten quality under control and are charging $2500. 00 for core charge and credit alone so we all make darn sure that they go back... ... . :-laf

Possibly LKQ or someone like that?????

Probably everyone doing a DPF delete is holding onto them since they are so expensive... and who knows when they will be mandatory equipment for inspection everywhere. Sort of the reason I have held onto my 04. 5's cat all these years... one of these days I'm going to need it.

Hey Sean,

I saw two of the them for sale yesterday on cumminsforum.com under the 3rd gen parts section. Both for $150.

I haven't called LkQ today. Great find in Oklahoma though. I think the chances of finding a junked one could be pretty good. You guys have some great leads in just 10 hrs, thanks.

I've seen some complete ones on Craigslist the past few months, and prices have been all over the place. Some are wanting an arm and leg due to the new inspections. Others are still decently priced in the $2-300 range. I don't think the '07+ yet qualify for inspections, so your chances of finding one cheap may still be good. Earlier 3rd gen exhaust systems have been popular as of late. I've found that unsuspecting tire/muffler/performance shops are good bets to find 2nd hand DPF's/exhausts. They will sometimes underestimate their current/future market value.

Your a little late. the dealers threw out thousands of them early on, but hardly ever replace them now.
