how bad would it be to swap a diesel motor in place of a V10 on a 2500 etc?

You are talking Dodge? Radiators are the same, Trans is the same or bellhousing. Saddles on frame are same. Find a wreck, get wiring etc. add battery tray. Should be real easy. I'd get a diesel dash cluster although I have seen the gas cluster work in a diesel.
