Well, I was doing some pondering in my head today about the Edge EZ.

I do know from experience that the EZ was the limit in HP for the 47RE before it needed to be upgraded. As the wife and I are both saving up to get the DTT setups in our new 04's, I was curious to know how well is the stock 48re holding up the EZ? Has anybody seen any slippage problems, shifting problems. . etc? Or is it pretty rock solid?

I have noticed that the 48re shifts firmer and seems to be drive better then the 47, though it is still very mushy and needs to be replaced :D

Any thoughts?

Kev

BTW. . the gauges are already on the way for both trucks :D

I have the True Torque Power module from Diesel Dynamics set on highest setting (level 4) with my 48RE. The TTPM is "related" so to speak to the EZ -- I don't know what the programing differences are - perhpas Keith can explain if he catches this thread. Anyways..... I've had the TTPM on the highest setting for over 3000 miles now and have not had any problems with transmission slips or codes.

Mine seems to be doing fine after about 10K with the EZ installed on level 6.

Only issue that I have noticed is that since you foot is not in the throttle as much when towing a heavy load the transmission still locks the converter at 49mph. This causes the engine to lug. All I do is lock out O/D till about 55. Other than that it has been flawless. I only have about 23K on the truck so far though...

I have about 10,000 miles on edge EZ, level 3; 25,000 on the truck. Absolutely no problems. Much better trans.

The TC on the 47re on my '98 went in 10k after I added power. I could feel it shudder right after adding power.

I haven't noticed any change in shift points after adding the edge.
