Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How long did your fuel-guage sender fix last?

OK, did the pen-spring "BOMB" on my fuel-guage sender quite some time ago. 10-12 years, possibly. Here lately, it's been doing that same annoying inconsistent read thing. Any of you other old-timers had yours fail, yet?

5 years and still going on my 95.

Ten-twelve years is pretty good! Considering that a new fuel sending unit would of lasted one to three years.

Liberty canister? Seems contradictory for one to contain his liberty in a canister. Like a place called Liberty Jail.
