How long does it take your truck to cool the cab with AC on after it's been sitting all day in the sun? Seems to take mine a little while, but when it does cool it sure is cold. Just thought since the engine had not been running it wouldn't take as long... thanks!

My truck cab gets into the 140's in the summer... I find it cools down fairly quick if I lower the rear windows 2-3" and draw outside-air through the cab (in A/C mode of course) and out through the windows for about 2-3 minutes first. Then I close the windows and put it on "re-circ" from there. I also added "Ice32" about 2. 5 years ago which gave me an additional 10 degree temp-drop. (New Page 1) On the hottest Vegas days... I'm comfy within a couple of minutes.

Thanks a bunch! Thats what I was looking for. I always start it on RECIRC and thats probably the problem!! All it is doing is recirculating the hot air around! No wonder it takes so much longer!!! I will try the other today on my way home!! Thanks for the advice!! And I am going to go get on eof those shade visors. .

Axekicker, What in Ice32? Does it make a difference? How do you get it into the A/C system?

Any type of shade really helps. I put up a shader last season and it really made a difference. If you live in a location where bugs and truck-theives (wait a minute... that's an oxymoron!!!:D) aren't a problem... keeping the windows cracked about 1" let's out a lot of hot air while the truck is just sitting also.

Click on the hot-link where it says 'New Page 1' in my original message. It's a link to their website which explains everything. You put it in the same way you put in R134a... I used my non-contact temp-gun to monitor my outlet temps as the A/C tech installed the product... I watched my temps drop 10 degrees in the 20-30 seconds it took him to install the product and for me... it works and has worked for the past 2. 5 years... as advertized. And Yes... it made a big difference for me... NOTE: I had the A/C tech completely evacuate my system... install new R-134a... oil... then install the ICE32. Even though my truck was only 6 months old... the A/C wasn't working well, especially on hot (RE: 115+ degree days). So I took it in to my favorite A/C tech and he hooked up the 'machine' and said the pressure on the "high" side was waaayyy to high and he thought I had some moisture in the sytem... so I had him do what I've previously explained. A good move on my part.
