Just got my DD2's :D and I'm ready to do the install. How long does this take for a first timer working alone? I'm comfortable doing this kind of stuff and have instructions from DD and some hints that were posted on this site. Thanks!

If you live in the seattle area Rob Hanson is down to less than 2 and that is with BS time and a doughnut break

hey bob -

thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I'm about 2300 miles away!

I could probably replace 30 sets of injectors before I could make it out your way and back :)

about 3 to 4 (first timmer)

Did my first yesterday. Took 45 min. to remove valve cover and air intake.

30 to loosen fuel line and braces.

30 min to do first injector and fuel tube.

one hour to do next five.

one more hour to put cover back, air intake and tighten everthing else up. Five tries to get it to restart. What I did was hit the starter for about 5 -10 seconds an wait for fuel pump to stop.

After doing this on the fifth try, Huston we have lift off.

It run rough three to five min. then cleared up.

Good luck. on my truck I was able to use 3/4 crows foot.

1st Time - 2.5 hours

And that included a trip to the auto parts store for locktite. The instructions are pretty good. Crows foot wrench isn't nescessary but makes things easier.

It's pretty straight forward. You sgouldn't have any problems,

It took me 2- 2 1/2 the first time, the #6 is the tough one. One thing I learned thru experience, you only need the remove the front 5/16" bolt from the injector hold down, the rear one can stay tight, just slip it out. Do not use a pry bar on the injectors, pull the finjector tubes out, then remove the injectors, you dont want to nick the tubes. Good luck.

Well... I did mine in under 2 hours, closer to an hour and a half. So I guess it depends on how fast you go and what you already know. I took my time and made sure I was doing everything right. It only took 5 min to remove and replace the valve cover and air intake tube.

Are there many TDR members around N. C. with experience installing or want to install injectors? One person has mentioned helping me since I don't feel confortable doing it alone. I want to do it myself with someone giving me direction and making sure I don't screw up. Gauge install, box, boost elbow, etc. not a problem. Remove that valve cover and I am intimidated!!! I am waiting on a reply from my email sent to him to set a date and maybe others may want to join the get together. My DD2's are suppose to be here tomorrow. :)

I'm all done (almost)....

Thanks for the repies guys! Based on your replies, I decided I had time to do the install last night. It took me 2. 5 hours for my first time. I did tear up the gasket under the intake heater grid. It was stuck pretty good on both sides. It came off in 3 pieces :( . I'm gonna try to find new gaskets today. I should have had them on hand before I started the install, but was hoping I could reuse them. IMO, these gaskets should be included with the injectors.

The DD instructions were good and the install went smoothly. I couldn't get the torque wrench on the back two injector lines, so I had to guess on those two. Hope to find gaskets today so I can go for a spin tonight. I'll report back.
