I finaly got my butt in gear and found a shop to install my DTT valve body and torque converter. I am not to sure what all Bill is going to have the guy do. I know the updated seal will be installed, 5 clutches (somewhere!) and something to do with a second gear band or strap. Basically Bill was saying he wanted him to go through the front 1/2 of the transmission.

Sorry guys, I am not the greatest with auto transmission talk, so alot of stuff I said above could be wrong! Just know I am getting DTT stuff installed and Bill wants things done right!

How many hours did the shop where you had your VB & TC installed bill you? Just want to know what to expect. Thanks.

Mine was done in about 6 hours, so depending on the person installing it it should be anywhere from 6 to 10 hours I would think. The people that did mine said they had done a few before already. Changed the TC and VB and put the update kit in the transmission is all that was done on mine. Going back this week hopefully to get the fluid changed, Mag-Hytec Pan put on and adjust the kickdown cable slightly so it don't hold onto first gear as long as it does under light throttle. Also have to look at installing the resistor, my truck takes off in 2nd gear about 30% of the time, mainly after a hard run down the highway it'll take off in 2nd until I shut down and restart the truck.

I did my Dad's ,it was my first one,it took about 8hrs,to do,I did the update kit as well, new seals, stronger band and strap. I had a lift ,and it was 2wd. I just finished my truck last weekend,it took 7 hrs,it is a 4x4,and we put the 5 clutches in too,as well as everything else. I made the mistake of shimming the 3rd clutches to Gm specs, since i didnt have chrysler specs handy, and I didnt remember to ask Bill when he sold me the kit,so now i have to pull the whole thing out nd apart again next weekend, and i have been going without my Ram since I found out its too tight. When I did both of these,we were in no rush, took our time, and stopped for dinner break, and BS a litttle while working,so i know 6-7 hrs is about right IMO for a pro.

Thanks guys. In and out in a day is what I like to hear! The guy doing the install really seems to know his stuff, but I am just trying to get a feel for how long this should take. 6-8 hours is what I will expect.
