I finaly got my buttin gear and found a shop to install my DTT valve body and torque converter. I am not to sure what all Bill is going to have the guy do. I know the updated seal will be installed, 5 clutches (somewhere!) and something to do with a second gear band or strap. Basically Bill was saying he wanted him to go through the front 1/2 of the transmission.

Sorry guys, I am not the greatest with auto transmission talk, so alot of stuff I said above could be wrong! Just know I am getting DTT stuff installed and Bill wants things done right!

How many hours did the shop where you had your VB & TC installed bill you? Just want to know what to expect. Thanks.

My trans took just under 5 hours with the Rick S. from Dave's Diesel and Jack the trans. guru, doing the work. R&R TC, VB and installed the update kit. With the proper tools and a good trans. specialist, it's a piece of cake... ... . You'll love your DTT VB & TC.

The 5 hours also included the compulsitory BS sessions and

numerous head banging (by me) on the lift that was too LOW!!!

NOTE TO SELF: don't work under a lift with people who are vertically challenged!! OUCH!!

Anyway, it's an easy job for someone who knows what their doing. Have fun.

John, ask that question to Bill K. He can give a guideline of how much labor is normslly charged. There's no preset amount of time, but most shops charge a rate per the task at hand.

You're also paying to have the front half of the transmission updated.

Have fun with the new transmission, you'll love it.
